carbonTRACK’s founders envisioned a future where technology would solve the inefficiencies in electricity production and distribution around the world. So, they began creating the energy management technology that would make this vision come true.
Now, our team shares this vision and works hard to bring that dream for tomorrow, closer to the reality of today. We see technology as an enabler – empowering people to live better and more sustainable lives.
We support initiatives that empower others and address energy poverty. We believe that all people should have access to electricity and humbly contribute to enabling that access.
The Tshepang Orphanage Programme supports orphans and vulnerable children in the Princess informal settlement located in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg. The project teaches life skills, offers homework assistance, a daily nutritious meal, and school visits. A dedicated team of 30 people help take care of 300 children, between the ages of 3 and 18, daily.
carbonTRACK supports the Tshepang Orphanage with the donations of solar lights, clothing, solar water heating and toys for around 350 kids. carbonTRACK is a continuing and keen supporter of the Tshepang Orphanage.
Miss Earth South Africa is a program that aims to empower young South African women with the knowledge and platform to create a sustainable difference in combating the destruction of South Africa’s natural heritage – climate change is a substantial focus for the organisation.
carbonTRACK has donated 100 solar lights to Miss Earth South Africa and has an ongoing commitment to support the cause.
In April 2010, Light is a Right conducted a study in Tanzania to assess the benefits of solar lighting versus kerosene powered lamps. The study, which was conducted among 400 families, demonstrated annual savings of $100 per family or 20% of the average annual income. Now Light is a Right dedicates its energies to the supply of solar powered lamps to children and families around the world.
carbonTRACK supports Light is a Right with annual monetary donations.
